A Look at the State Championship Matchups in Softball and Baseball 

The months of practice and games in both cold weather and hot weather finally come to a head tomorrow. The state championships in high school softball and baseball. All eight champions will be named tomorrow.In Class A baseball, Oxford Hills, looking for their first state championship since 2005, they’ll face Biddeford at noon tomorrow from Saint Joe’s College in Standish.In Class B baseball, Waterville, the top seed in Eastern Maine, they’ll face Cape Elizabeth in a battle of two 18 and one teams. That game at 11AM from Mansifeld Stadium in Bangor. In Class C baseball, Calais, looking for their first state title since 1976, they’ll face Dirigo at five tomorrow from Saint Joe’s. Class D baseball, Central Aroostook, 10-0 winners in the Eastern Maine final. They’ll face Richmond at three tomorrow from Mansfield Stadium.Switiching gears to Softball, Class A, the Bangor Rams, in the state championship for the first time. They beat Skowhegan in the Eastern Maine final. They’ll face South Portland at four tomorrow from Saint Joe’s.Class B softball, Hermon, top seed in the East, they’ll face Freyburg Academy at four tomorrow from Coffin Field in Brewer.Class C softball, George Stevens Academy, looking for their first state title. They’ll face undefeated Telstar at 11AM from Saint Joe’s. In Class D, Deer Isle-Stonington, 17-2 this year. They’ll face Richmond at 11AM tomorrow in Brewer.
