Sunday is Father’s Day and the state parks department is giving all dad’s a gift – free admission to any Maine park. Actually, admission on Sunday is waived for any who lives in Maine. Every year the Bureau of Parks and Lands hosts “Maine Day”. It’s designed to give folks a chance to experience any of the state’s 48 parks and historic sites for free.Officials say a lot of people are already enjoying those sites, with attendance for day use and camping up 27-percent over this time last year.
