Lincoln Senior Housing Scheduled to Open This Winter

An affordable housing complex for seniors in Lincoln is getting closer to being completed.Folks at Penquis say the Lakeview Senior Housing building should be ready for people to move in before too far into this winter. The structure is up and they just finished putting solar panels on the roof.Twenty-four units inside will be available to people 55 and older, whose income meets certain guidelines. The director of housing development for Penquis says since they broke ground in November, things have been running according to schedule.”It meets the mission of Penquis to provide affordable housing, in this case for the seniors of Lincoln. But more importantly, it also has been a joy to to work with the town of Lincoln. That hole has been there at the end of that street since 2002,” says Stephen Mooers, Penquis director of housing development. The space on Main Street in Lincoln had been vacant for eight years, after fire burned the mall that previously stood there.
