Sam Bedore, Gatorade Player of the Year

Tim Throckmorton

The Bangor high school softball team has what many are calling the top pitcher in the state. Gatorade has named Sam Bedore the best player in the Maine. Its a lot of hard work and a lot of time but in the end its worth it it paid off.A regular season era of 0.22. She struck out two batters per inning this year. She obviously throws hard compared to most pitchers but she has movement and off speed that can fake anyone out. Its impressive.Bedore has been pitching since she was seven…she’s had lessons and winter training ever since. Now the last part of my training is the mental part and not the physical. She’ll be pitching for Rhode Island next season.I’ve caught her for two years and she impresses me.Tuesday the Rams play Skowhegan in the Eastern final… The Indians are the only team to beat Bangor this year. It’s always exciting for the playoffs more this senior year we have a really good shot this year.
