Milk Run in Downtown Bangor 

Runners in downtown Bangor fueled up for Saturday’s fundraiser for the Bangor YMCA, by drinking milk.This was the 9th year for the Milk Run.It’s hosted by the Bangor Y as well as Garelick farms.The event began at the Fireside Inn across from the Bangor Civic Center, and ended at West Market Square.Organizers call it a fitness family fun event.Money raised goes to the Access Y Scholarship Program.”Everybody in our community cannot always afford the services that we offer at the Bangor Y,” says Tammy Hodgdon, Milk Race Coordinator. “And we want to make it affordable for everybody. So we get out and we do some fund raising so that we can offer scholarships to those that need it.”About 150 people took part in today’s Milk Run.The bangor Y was hoping to raise close to $5,000 from the event.
