As the summer heats up, the nights get cooler in downtown Bangor.Folks filled the streets this evening for the first outdoor market and cool sounds free concert of the season. This year more than 35 vendors are setting up shop downtown. There’s a wide variety of goods, everything from fresh bread and home made jams to woodworking and jewelry.Organizers say the market provides the opportunity to show off all downtown Bangor has to offer. “It exposes people to what we have to offer here. Go grad some dinner, check out the shops downtown.” explains Shirar Patterson, Business and Economic Development Officer for Bangor.Every week a new musical act will perform. This week Bruce Nye the Elvis Guy hit the stage.Organizers say a variety of genres will be represented during the concert season, so they’ll be something for everyone.Rain or shine, the market takes to the streets every Thursday of June and July.
