Emergency Landing in Farmingdale 

The plane went down near Ryder Road in Farmingdale. The pilot is reportedly okay. Jim Peters with the Federal Aviation Administration says a plane registered to Wings With “The Word,” in Sanford, went down in a field just before 4 p.m.Peters says the plane left the Augusta Airport a few minutes earlier headed for Sanford. Two minutes later, Peters says the pilot declared an emergency.Peters did not have the pilot’s name. An investigator from the FAA is on the way to the scene.An Internet search for Wings With “The Word” revealed a blog of the organization with entries from a Todd Bell.In it, he said he made an emergency landing in a field and said, “To God be the Glory I made it. Engine quit! In a field!”
