Steuben Man has Nursing License Revoked 

The Attorney General’s Office says the Maine State Board of Nursing has revoked the nursing license of a Steuben man.Forty-four-year-old John Zablotny’s nursing license is being revoked for incompetent nursing practice and unprofessional conduct.The AG’s office says Zablotny was the nursing supervisor at Down East Community Hospital when he allowed Reid Emery, an elderly and disoriented patient, to be discharged from the hospital during snowstorm in January of 2008.Emery’s body was later found near the hospital.The medical examiner determined Emery died of hypothermia and opiate toxicity.Zablotny’s nursing license has been revoked for two years and he’s been fined 15-hundred dollars.
