Corinth Attempted Bank Robber Held Without Bail 

A 25-year-old transient charged with an attempted robbery in Corinth earlier this week remains in jail tonight, after appearing in a Bangor courtroom this afternoon.Officials didn’t set bail for Jerome Richards because he was already on probation for theft.Richards was arrested Tuesday, after he was seen walking toward the entrance of the Maine Savings and Federal Credit Union around 5 p.m. An off-duty state trooper says Richards was wearing a black hoodie, backwards, with eyeholes cut out and black latex gloves. When the man saw the trooper on the phone, he fled the scene. Officials tracked Richards down and say they found the sweatshirt, the gloves, and B.B. guns in his vehicle.He’ll stay in jail until his next court date.
