Elementary School Movie Premiere

It’s a tradition that’s been going on for more then 5 years. Children and staff dress in formal outfits and sunglasses to walk the red carpet for the Marion C. Cook Elementary School’s annual “Movie Premiere.” Every year school officials save pictures and combine them into a slideshow movie. This special day involves the entire school. Kindergarten through 1st grade make the stars to hang from the ceiling. 2nd and 3rd design the invitations. The 4th and 5 graders create movie posters to decorate the gym, and parents serve as the paparazzi. This might be the last of the movie premiers. Due to budget constraints the school is being considered for closure. If it is the last year teachers say the tradition went out with a bang, and the memories will last forever.
