Students Build Duct Tape Boats

On Wednesday a group of Madison High students traveled to Abnaki Campground to answer one question – will it float? The teens built boats as part of a physics class project. The rules were that the boats could only be made of cardboard and duct tape. Many students found success as their floats made the grade by staying above water. However, a few did fall apart. Physics teacher Jim Demchak said some stayed afloat for nearly 15 minutes. The shortest time was 23 seconds.
