A house in Hampden is a total loss after a fire

A house in Hampden is a total loss after a fire broke out this morning. At about 9:00 am the Hampden fire department was called to Western Avenue near the Newburg-Hampden town line. Upon arrival firefighters say they found a double wide trailer fully involved.After a few hours with assistance from other fire departments firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze. Officials say there were some obstacles to getting the fire under control.Rt. 9 was closed for about two hours during the fire. No one was at home at the time of the blaze, but the owner did come home as firefighters were on scene. There were no injuries. The fire is still under investigation.
