A plan to improve the quality of water at Birch Stream in Bangor will be unveiled to the community tomorrow. The city will present its recommendations on what needs to be done in terms of stormwater treatment and environmental work to make Birch Stream better. In 2003, de-icing chemicals used on commercial and military planes at Bangor’s airport were found in the stream. A lot of clean up has gone into the water since then. The proposal released tomorrow will also let property owners in the area know what would be expected of them. The plan will be discussed at a meeting at City Hall, starting at 3 o’clock.
