Students in Lincoln tonight will show off a project they’ve created to hold on to the town’s heritage. Seventh and eighth graders at Mattanawcook Junior High were given the task of digitizing the history of Lincoln and putting it all together on a website. It’s part of a program called the Maine Community Heritage Project, which is a joint effort of the Maine Historical Society and the Maine State Library. The students have posted more than 150 historic photos along with information on people who’ve helped shape the community.A celebration of their work will take place at the school gym at 6:30 p.m. and everyone’s welcome. And if you’d like to check out the website, just go to www.lincoln.mainememory.net.
