Orono Teachers Wins International Award 

A teacher from Orono is receiving global attention.Deborah White recently learned she’s the winner of the “Kay L. Bitter Vision Award for Excellence in Technology-based Pre-K through Grade 2 education.”Nominations came in from all over the world.White has been teaching second grade at Asa C. Adams elementary school for 20 plus years.She won because of her dedication to incorporating the latest technology into her classroom…Students use twitter as well as a classroom blog.White tells TV 5 she is “overwhelmed” by the award.White will receive $500 to implement even more technology in her classroom…She’ll be honored next month in denver, colorado.White was nominated by the Association of Computer Technology Educators of Maine.
