My Own Little Microcosm

We all know that kids live in their own little world. This weekend, some “made” their own little worlds at the Children’s Museum in Bangor. The museum hosted a craft project where kids were invited to make their own “biomes.”Biomes are often referred to as ecosystems. The kids were allowed to pick what type of biome they wanted to create, then set to the task of constructing them. “It teaches them about different parts of the world that they might not know about, even in America there are different biomes all across the country,” Kim Stewart from the Discovery Museum. “So they can learn about the world.”Stewart says the hands-on approach to the biomes combines learning science with art.
