Maine Fallen Soldier Laid to Rest 

Funeral services were held Sunday for a soldier from Maine who died in Afghanistan.The services for 21-year-old Army Specialist Wade Slack took place at Blessed Hope Adventist church in his hometown of Waterville. Governor Baldacci ordered U.S. and Maine flags be flown at half staff throughout Sunday..Authorities say Slack had successfully dismantled an explosive device last week when he was killed by enemy fire in a mortar attack.When Slack as a junior in high school, he decided he wanted to join the military and specialize in defusing military weapons.He was with the Army’s 707th ordnance battalion out of Fort Lewis, Washington.
