The 5th Annual Regional Street & Stream Cleanup is going on all over Maine this weekend. The Bangor Area Storm Water Group is out cleaning with help from community groups, businesses, families, and individuals. The event is a coordinated regional effort to clean up waterways and protect water quality, as well as to build community awareness about storm water pollution. This event is taking place in several locations throughout the Bangor Urban Area. Volunteers met for a short safety discussion before heading out to the designated cleanup sites. Last year was a huge success with over 300 volunteers participating in the collection of trash along the Penobscot River throughout the region.
