Winthrop Crash Closes Road, Sends Pregnant Woman to Hospital 

Maine State Troopers say a car that was being pursued by police collided nearly head-on with a sport utility vehicle driven by a pregnant woman, injuring both drivers and tying up Route 202 in Winthrop for a time Wednesday afternoon.Troopers say 39-year-old Glen Witham of Skowhegan fled from an Androscoggin County Deputy because he was wanted for outstanding felony warrants.Witham was taken by ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with critical injuries. The S.U.V. driver, 27-year-old Jenna Lawrence of Manchester, who was eight months pregnant, was taken to Maine General in Augusta with non-life threatening injuries.
