May 13, 2010 – Stony Brook vs Maine – Softball 

This afternoon in Orono, Maine softball hosting the America East conference tournament for the first time in four years. The seniors on this years team were part of the Black Bear team that got knocked out in two games back in 2006. Today, Maine trying to move on. Their first opponent, the Stony Brook Seawolves.A beautiful day for softball, everyone breaking out the sun glasses.Third inning, game tied at one, Terren Hall smacks a shot to center field. Whitney Spangler comes in to score. Maine takes the lead.The next batter, Kristen Calvetti, crushes one to left for a two run homer. Maine scores five runs in the third.Coach Deb Smith likes what she sees.Cayleigh Montano and Beth Spoehr pitched great games for the Black Bears. Spoehr gets the final out. Maine wins 5-1 and will play at 11AM tomorrow morning.
