Psychologist Says Stansberry Suffered from “Psychotic Break from Reality” 

A psychologist testified today that the man accused of causing a trans atlantic flight to be diverted to Bangor last month was suffering from a psychotic break at the time.Prosecutors say 27-year-old Derek Stansberry passed a note to a flight attendant that said he had a fake passport. Air marshals say he told them he had dynamite, which he didn’t.Dr. Bruce Kerr testified today that when he interviewed him on April 30th, Stansberry was delusional. Stansberry’s lawyer says her client is now back to normal and is ready to move forward with the legal proceedings.Today, a federal judge agreed and Stansberry’s detention hearing is now scheduled for Friday.
