Mainers Push for American Power Act 

Senators Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe are getting pressure for some Mainers to support a new bill in congress.Wednesday, the director of the Natural Resources Council of Maine delivered 1,500 letters to the senators offices in Augusta, urging them to vote for the “American Power Act.”The legislation would create a cap on carbon emissions and reduce dependency on foreign oil.Lisa Pohlmann says the bill isn’t perfect, but it’s the best chance to tackle clean energy issues this year.Pohlmann says the letters are from a broad range of businesses, health professionals, sportsman and other leaders.
