Turner Man Confesses to Shooting Wife Over Alleged Affair 

A police affidavit says a 45-year-old Turner man confessed to fatally shooting his wife, because he thought she was having an affair.Brian Nichols made his first court appearance in Androscoggin County Superior Court on Monday.He is charged with murdering 38-year-old Jane Tetreault early Saturday morning.Court documents say one of Nichols’ teenage sons told detectives that his father had recently been stalking his mother because he thought she was cheating on him.A judge has ordered Nichols to undergo a mental examination.
