St. Joseph Healthcare received a nice booster shot Tuesday. The hospital’s auxiliary presented St. Joe’s CEO Sister Mary Norberta with a 50-thousand dollar check. The auxiliary raised that money through its many fundraising events over the past year.Sister Norberta says the money will help pay for an automatic patient medication system. She says the system will be helpful to patients and hospital staff too.”It’s the newest way. We already have our medication bar coded. But this is another step beyond that. The medication will be dispensed only to that patient’s room number and the nurse has an ID. We won’t be able to mix any medicine by mistake.”Sister Norberta says she is very appreciative for the efforts of the auxiliary and for its kind donation.
