Ellsworth Rotary Charity Auction on Friday 

A couple hundred people are expected at this year’s charity auction for the Rotary Club of Ellsworth. The event is coming up this Friday.Hundreds of items have been donated for the auction, including a kayak, a football signed by Tom Brady, an African safari and a condo vacation in Fort Myers, Florida.This year the Rotary is partnering with the Down East Family YMCA, where money raised will help contribute to a badly needed new roof.In addition, Rotary Club President Lincoln Ehrlenbach says the money will help support many area charities and scholarships.”We give out over five thousand dollars in scholarships to high school seniors every year, and total, we give out about 20-thousand dollars to the community,” Ehrlenbach says.The auction will run from five until eight on Friday night at the Acadia Birches, Knights Inn in Ellsworth. There will be a silent auction as well. Organizers are hoping to raise 30-thousand dollars.If you have an auction item you’d like to donate, you can call the Rotary Club at 667-4621.
