Smokers will notice a change at the Bangor State Fair. They’ll only be able to light up in certain spots.Fair organizers say state law prohibits smoking in outdoor food establishments. They say the midway fits into that category.Plus, they’ve gotten complaints from people attending the fair about smoking. So this year, they’ll offer smoking kiosks.Director of Bass Park, Mike Dyer says, “They’re going to be 10 by 10 tents located where they’re visible but they’ll be isolated from most of the midway and most of the activity. So, folks can go there and have a cigarette but they will be away from the activity on the midway and everything else.”They hope the move will make the fair even more family friendly.
