The lawyer for a Florida man accused of causing a trans-Atlantic flight to be diverted to Bangor says she’s exploring his possible use of Ambien.Virginia Villa says it’s too early to say whether the sleep aid, or something else, caused his bizarre actions.27-year-old Derek Stansberry told flight attendants he took Ambien before giving them a note stating his passport was fake.Authorities say the former Air Force intelligence specialist also claimed to have dynamite.Court documents state Stansberry later said he made that up because, he claimed, he possessed classified information and wanted to divert attention from it.Stansberry is charged with making threats and interfering with a flight crew.
