Spring Storm Does Surprising Amount of Damage 

High winds and rains whipped through the area around 4 o’clock Monday afternoon. Leaving close to 4000 Bangor Hydro customers in Penoscot and Piscataquis Counties without power. And more than 10,000 CMP customers likewise at the hight of the blow.Downed power lines and trees blocking roadways were reported throughout the area.In Brewer, traffic had to be diverted because of some downed lines on Main Street, and a large tree fell across Ohio Street in Bangor, completely blocking traffic. Bangor Police say Ohio Street is now open to one lane traffic. They are asking folks to drive slowly and cautiously, and flaggers are on scene to assist with traffic.More than a few folks ended up with damage to their homes. “The storm came up fast and furious, and then it was over,” Recalled Bill Reid of Bangor. “You can see the two trees that grew up right together.
