Helping Hands Garage Program Celebrates 5th Anniversary 

A group in Ellsworth that helps low income working families find affordable transportation celebrated its 5th anniversary today.Helping Hands Garage is part of the Washington Hancock Community Agency. It helps families and individuals with low cost, reliable used vehicles to help them get back and forth to work.Today at their anniversary party Darlings Auto Mall in Bangor donated a used Chevy Venture that was raffled off.Organizers of today’s event say they’re happy with the progress of the past five years and hope to expand the program.Julia Dunbar of Bucksport was the winner of the minivan. She commutes to work in Ellsworth.
