Each year, more than two dozen career and technical education schools from several states come together for a conference to make sure their students are receiving the most up-to-date education in their technical fields. The Maine Administrators of Career and Technical Education, along with the United Technologies Center in Bangor, played host to the conference this year. This year, the state of Maine was chosen to host the region one conference for the national Administrators of Career Technical Education. Region one is made up of 15 states from as far west as Michigan and as far south as Delaware. The three basic themes for the conference are green energies, composites and technologies, all of which are touched upon by the school’s students. One of the speakers at the conference was Dr. Habib Dagher, the Director of the Advanced Composites Center at the University of Maine…he talked about energy potential in Maine.
