Competency Hearing For Florida Man Accused of Diverting Plane to Bangor 

A federal judge wants a competency hearing for a man accused of causing a trans-atlantic flight to be diverted to Bangor.The FBI says 27-year-old Derek Stansberry of Florida claimed he had a false passport and explosives aboard a Delta airlines flight from Paris to Atlanta tuesday.It turns out that there were no explosives and Stansberry’s passport was valid.Stansberry is charged with false information and threats and interfering with a flight crew.Magistrate Margaret Kravchuk in Bangor granted a defense requestfor a competency examination for Stansberry. In doing so, she also delayed a detention hearing scheduled for Monday.
