River School Students Back in US After Volcano

A group of students from the River School in Belfast are back in Maine after being stuck in Ireland for almost a week. An ash cloud from a volcano in Iceland grounded their original flight. 17-year-old Lizzie Moore of Stockton Springs has been attending the alternative high school for almost 4 years. As a senior Moore says this trip to Ireland is the first time she’s experienced travel woes. The volcano added a 5 day wait to what would have been a 8 day trip for the three students and teacher. The students spent the extra days at free museums and sights, while spending nights at a last second bed and breakfast setting them back 700 dollars plus meals.
