Mechanical Engineering Senior Design Competition

University of Maine Students had the chance to demonstrate the designs for a adaptive vehicle. Seniors involved in Mechanical Engineering Technology designed low-cost adaptive vehicles for people in mozambique who have lost legs from land mines. The vehicles must fill unique requirements like hand-power, wheelchair accessibility and stability on rough desert terrain. Each year students in Professor Herb Crosby’s capstone course take on a relevant problem for their senior projects and present them as part of Maine Day Activities on campus.
