A benefit concert tonight at Husson University is taking an unusual admission fee to get in – school supplies to help children in Iraq. The Rock the School concert is part of a campus-wide effort to collect supplies for Iraqi students. Mike Goulart, a New England School of Communications student who served in Iraq, came up with the idea. His says the kids he met there now tell members of his former unit, the 82nd Airborne, they’ve had to close their school because there aren’t enough supplies.Organizers of the benefit hope to change that. Local band The Divine Ruin is headlining tonight’s concert. The cost is $3 worth of school supplies or $3 cash. It starts at 7 p.m. at the Furman Center. School supply drop boxes are also located at the main offices for both Husson University and Nescom.
