Free Cell Phones for Mainers 

More than 145,000 Mainers are eligible for free phones.Tracfone Wireless has announced that low-income households in Maine now qualify for a new lifeline program that provides a free cell phone and minutes for emergencies.The program is called Safelink Wireless and is a federal backed program.To qualify a household must take part in at least one low-income assistance program like Mainecare or food stamps, now known as snap.Maine is one of 24 states to introduce Safelink Wireless.In addition to the phones, 68-free minutes are also given each month.To check out the program you can visit
