The Ice is Out on Maine’s Biggest Lake 

Thursday saw another sign of the season: The ice is out on Moosehead Lake.That’s according to Roger Currier of Currier’s Flying Service.He frequently flies over Maine’s largest lake.Every spring he keeps a special watch on things to see when the ice has finally gone away.He officially declared this year’s “ice out” at 10:33 Thursday morning.Ice out is when a boat can make it from Greenville to Northeast Carry without running into any frozen water.
