The folks at Eastern Maine Medical Center were able to do a little environmentally friendly spring cleaning today. EMMC hosted at Universal waste drop-off day. E-Waste Recycling parked a tractor trailer at the hospital. Employees were able to properly dispose of major electronics: like televisions, computers, and microwaves. Ray Johnson, Environmental Health and Safety Officer for EMMC, says this is part of a larger effort to protect the environment. “We are trying to be environmentally friendly, and this is stuff that won’t be going into the transfer station or be disposed of improperly. This will be separated and put back into use and recycled.”Tomorrow E-Waste will be set up at the Bangor Mall from 10 am to 4 pm. Folks from Bangor and surrounding towns can bring large electronics they would like to dispose of.
