Students from The Sebasticook Valley Middle School took part in the second annual Pocket Flag Project. Junior ROTC Color Guard students performed the flag folding ceremony, with a flag donated by Senator Susan Collins. At the end of the ceremony, students prepared smaller flags to be sent to troops who are already overseas or are getting ready to deploy. The ceremony ties into last years. Some troops for which the ceremony was held last year were on hand to thank the students this year. The children folded 600 pocket flags at the ceremony. They hope all the soldiers who receive the flags will be present for the ceremony next year.
