Former Maine Black Bear Superstar Named Junior Hockey Coach 

Dubuque, Iowa has a new team in the United States Hockey League and the coach is Jim Montgomery.The former UMaine player is now 40 years old and it wasn’t that long ago when Montgomery led Maine to its first national championship in 1993, scoring three goals late in the championship game. He ranks fourth in NCAA history with 198 assists and 301 points. As the Fighting Saints’ head coach, his job is to win chamionships and get the players ready to play in college.It’s a junior hockey league team and Montgomery is also the teams general manager.
