More than 100 volunteers over the age of 50 got together in Northport Monday to attend the Encore leadership Summit. The event was put on by the University of maine Center on Aging and the Maine Community Foundation. The purpose of the summit was to inspire folks who are focused on making the most of Maine’s natural resources and improving the state for future generations.”As you might guess these are folks who care deeply about their communities and that they be places where life is godo and life is as it should be.” says Lenard Kaye, Dir. of the Center on Aging at U-Maine.The summit continues on Tuesday.
