Healthy aging in Hancock County. That’s the topic of an event going on in Ellsworth this week. It’s sponsored by the group, Faith in Action. It kicked off on Thursday, with presentations on several topics that affect seniors. It all fits into the mission of Faith in Action. They want to help the elderly lead productive lives, and realize that can be tough in rural parts of our state. “Even in town though, people cab get isolated in their own homes so that for us is the most important thing we’re trying to address,” Said Jo Cooper, the Executive Director of Faith in Action. “Have a way for people to get out and be with other people is very important for your health whatever your age.”The event is being held at the new Senior Center in Ellsworth. It’s located at the former Bryant E. Moore school.Organizers say it’s also a great chance for folks to tour the facility. The event continued Friday morning starting at nine then will wrap up with lunch at noon. For more information you can contact Faith in Action at 664-6016.
