CMP Allegedly Calls for Further Layoffs 

A union representing hundreds of Central Maine Power employees said the company is planning on laying off more than 100 workers.The announcement comes less than a month after most of the union members ratified a contract set to run for another four years.Officials with the IBEW local 1837 say the latest layoffs are in addition to 141 meter personnel set to lose their jobs as a result of the installation of so-called smart meters.
