Lee Fire – Update 

Fire Marshals say they might never know what caused a house fire in Lee.Fire crews from Lee, Lincoln and Springfield were called to the Lee Road Friday afternoon. Lee Fire Chief Jay Crocker says the daughter of the homeowner was there and heard a loud bang coming from the cellar and called the fire department.Crocker says they could see the smoke from the fire station and when they arrived the home was up in flames.He says the oil tank was on fire when they arrived, but they are not sure what caused the explosion.Everyone made it out safely but, a firefighter was taken to the Penobscot Valley Hospital for heat exhaustion.Crocker says they did have some challenges.” We were worried about some grass fires. There’s a field down back. It did get into the grass a couple of times but nothing major.”Investigators know that the fire started in the cellar but because of the extent of the damage the cause is undetermined.
