Kids at the Parkside Children’s Center are participating in the annual Hop-a-Thon. They’re hippity-hop-hop-hopping to collect pledges that will be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Teachers say they showed the children a video of children with MD, and these kids decided they would help. Brandi Lyons a Lead Teacher at Parkside says, “We explained to them that these children are just like them, they do the same things but they can’t work the way they do, but they’re excited to hop for kids that need help.” The kids say they’re hopping for two reasons. They like the idea of helping others, but also because it’s fun. The children were invited to search for eggs hidden by the rabbit himself. About 70 kids or 140 little feet were bouncing off the pavement. Teachers say they expect to raise more then a thousand dollars.
