Traffic is moving again on I-95 in Bangor after an accident on the northbound side near the Broadway exit stacked up drivers for about three miles this morning.State Police say the call came in around 8:00 a.m. after a Bangor Hydro truck flipped over and collided with an SUV. Police say the truck driver swerved to avoid some traffic stopped near the exit. The utility truck smashed into the guardrail that separates the north and southbound lanes of I-95.State Police say the driver of the Bangor Hydro truck suffered minor injuries, but no one else was hurt.Authorities say given the time of the accident, and the busy section of road, this could have been a lot worse. “It’s obviously a very busy area and you come up on it very quick,” says Sgt. Sean Hashey of the Maine State police, “but also the vehicle, the Bangor Hydro truck, actually went through the guardrail just a short ways through the southbound lane but it didn’t actually protrude into the passing lane. Had that occurred into the southbound lane it could have been a lot worse.”The Maine Department of Transportation removed a section of the guardrail so the truck could be moved. State Police say the accident is under investigation.
