A developer from California is getting a one-year extension to pull together plans for a mega resort in Brownville. The planning board approved the idea Monday night. Developer Jim Dennehy first proposed turning more than 3,000 acres into “The Reserve at Norton Pond” five years ago.Earlier this month, the property was scheduled to be sold for breach of mortgage, but that sale was postponed. Town manager Sophie Wilson says Dennehy now has until April 1st of next year to submit final plans for the project. His idea includes building a hotel, convention center, golf course and several hundred time-share units in the area. Wilson says she expects the town to see drawings for the project in the next six to eight months.
