Fairfield Man Convicted of Murdering Ex-Wife Asks for New Trial 

A man from Fairfield serving 37 years in prison for killing his ex-wife is asking for a new trial.Gregory Warmke was convicted in 2004 of murdering Leslie Bullock in the driveway of her home in Fairfield.Warmke went before a judge in Somerset County Tuesday, requesting a new trial. Assistant Attorney General Donald Macomber says Warmke claims his trial lawyer didn’t do a good enough job. Warmke says his lawyer should have called a psychologist or psychiatrist to testify about his state of mind. Warmke never denied he killed Bullock, but said his ex-wife’s mistreatment of him and her smirk prior to the shooting provoked him.
