UMaine Baseball Gets Ready For Opening Day

In the rain today, construction crews were working on completing the dugout project at UMaine.A set of bleachers behind the home dugout was being moved forward. The dugouts themselves are much larger than the old ones. The project needs to be finished by this weekend as the Black Bears prepare for their home opener against Lehigh after playing the first 19 games on the road. The field improvments here are a welcome addition.Steve Trimper – Maine Baseball Coach”Actually it was a major improvement on the dugouts they were getting a little old and run down and obviously we have a beautiful facility with Mahaney Diamond and the dome and the clubhouse the dugouts were starting to turn sideways on us. Then it grew from there we got them a little bigger and a little nicer and we have some wood benches in there so it turned out to be an awesome project for us.”
