Thorndike Residents Pass Wind Ordinance

A wind ordinance was passed by residents in Thorndike Saturday. The newly-minted ordinance was voted on at their annual town meeting.Back in March of 2009 residents voted for a moratorium on the project to give them more time to update existing ordinances or to draft new ones to address the commercial wind power project. The newly passed ordinance requires a mile setback from the nearest residence, which mimics recently approved wind ordinances in the towns of Jackson and Dixmont.
