Police Launch Investigation in to Dead Dogs 

State officials have launched an investigation after they say several dead dogs were discovered at a home in Enfield.The town’s animal control officer, Bruce Hallett, says they found at least eight dead dogs and six living dogs at a home on the Darling’s Estate Road.The director of the state’s Animal Welfare Program, Norma Worley, says the owner surrendered the animals to them.The living dogs have been taken to the Penobscot Valley Humane Society in Lincoln.Worley says they will have a vet examine the animals, and she says an autopsy will be performed on one of the dead dogs.At this point, no charges have been filed against the man who was living there.Worley says once they have all the results back, they will compile a report and take it to the District Attorney.
